Join us for Law Firm 101 series at ILTACON, Thursday, August 22 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is a fact and fun-filled series of sessions to help people new in law firms understand the business context and the vocabulary of a law firm. We will have three dedicated sessions focused on the history of law and lawyers: the practice of law with its roles and responsibilities; the business of law and where the money comes from; and technology in law firms, current and future. There will be clear takeaways from each session to help you be more successful as you integrate into a law firm.


Law Firm Intelligence - So You Want to Be a Law Firm IT Leader

We will explore how the current day law firm came to be structured, how the practice of law has evolved, and the personality types of attorneys often provide challenges for us as IT leaders. Then we dive into the roles and responsibilities needed to support the practice of law. Through this interactive discussion and game show, you will come away with tips on how you can be even more successful in your role in law firm IT.

In this instructive and interactive session, you'll learn about the law firm as a business and the pressures on the traditional business model. Executive leaders of two firms will provide examples of how they are helping their law firm businesses think differently, how to engage lawyers in driving efficiencies, and how a focus on culture and creativity can help transform the business and get to the Finish Line.

We'll play a bit of Jeopardy around the tech skills that will be needed over the next few years.
